2015 INNOVATORS SERIES - Innovators in personality disorders treatment
Dr Frank Yeomans (Transference Focused Psychotherapy) and Dr Giancarlo Dimaggio (Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy) - provide specialised trainings in March and May 2015
March 2015: Dr Frank Yeomans presents workshops on “Transference Focused Psychotherapy”. Dr Yeomans is Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Weill Medical College of Cornell, Director of Training at the Personality Disorders Institute of Weill-Cornell, Adjunct Associate Professor at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, Director of the Personality Studies Institute. Workshops are in various locations including Sydney (27 March), and Melbourne (30-31 March).
May 2015: Dr Giancarlo Dimaggio presents on "Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy”. Dr Dimaggio is a founding member of the Center for Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy, Rome and trainer for the Italian Society of Cognitive and Behaviour Psychotherapy. Only Australian workshop is in Brisbane (1-2 May).

DBT WorkshopS
Project Air Strategy and Spectrum Personality Disorders Service of Victoria co-hosted skills training workshops in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy in Sydney and Melbourne during September 2014. The training was extremely popular with both events booking out months before. The training was conducted by Dr Roy Krawitz, Dr Carla Walton and Dr Emily Cooney. The theme for the conference is "Celebrating Recovery" and it will be held on 3-4 October 2013 at the University of Technology, Sydney.

FREE Mental Health Community Forums: "Understanding Personality Disorder and Relationship Strategies"
The South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Family and Carer Mental Health Program Team, in partnership with Aftercare FACES will be holding a FREE Mental Health Community Forum across three sites, Wollongong, Bondi Junction and Sutherland.
These events are open to families, carers, consumers and interested members of the community. The Psychiatrist within the team will deliver the clinical component, joined by consumer and carer guest speakers who will provide their personal experiences. Before concluding the program the audience will be given opportunity to ask the panel of expert's questions.It is hoped the forum will increase awareness and reduce stigma surrounding the complexities of this mental illness and provide some helpful strategies in building better relationships. RSVPs are essential.
