  • DBTBrisbane teaches three modules each lasting 8 weeks. The modules are distress tolerance skills, emotion regulation skills, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Mindfulness skills are also taught in each unit.
  • This is particularly suited for persons with Borderline Personality Disorder.
  • Clients will also undertake individual sessions each week to support use of these skills in their personal lives.
  • Skills groups occur at Toowong. Individual therapy sessions are held at Lutwyche, Chermside, Brisbane and Norman Park.

  • The Acute Mental Health Inpatient Services Academic Clinical Unit (ACU) provides care to people who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.
  • The ACU is for persons whose mental illness is not manageable in a less restrictive setting.
  • The ACU team are experienced in working with Borderline Personality Disorder patients. The triage team will undertake an initial assessment of the immediacy of the situation.
